Outdoor Newborn Shoot
You have a gorgeous new bundle of joy in your life and would love some photos taken but were still having to be socially distant? No problem I got you!

Back in April I decided to create door step photos for my local community. I had a message from a lovely lady whose sister had just had a baby but had to cancel her prebooked newborn shoot due to lockdown and wondered if I could take some photos of them on their doorstep.
Of course I said yes and I couldn't wait to help. I so wanted to make this special for Hannah and Richard so I thought what else could we do to make this a special and memorable moment for their new family?
I had an idea that we could recreate a newborn shoot outside. The weather was lovely and warm so baby Millie wouldn't get cold and as long as they had a garden where we could all be 2 metres away then it could work!
I suggested this to the lovely Hannah who was super happy to try this! I wanted to make sure that we had measures in place. I used the side gate to get into the garden and I gave them a list of things we would need for the shoot so Hannah could have them ready. We placed Millie onto a cushion which we had pre heated with a hot water bottle and Hannah tested the cushion to make sure it wasn't to warm.
I guided Hannah on how to position Millie while I snapped away. I have a 70-200mm Lens so I was able to get some close up shots as well as wider photos like I would in any of my shoots. I also used Hannah and Richards gorgeous garden to create some lovely family photos. Hannah and Richard had patio doors so we placed Millie onto her cushion just inside the house so she was sheltered from the breeze and I took some tiny toes photos. These are one of my favourite shots from every baby shoot I do as their feet are just the cutest!
It was a super relaxed shoot as and Millie was an absolute angel!
I have shot another outdoor newborn shoot since doing Millies and the couple also loved the photos and it seams to work really well. Having a newborn in your life is something that should be celebrated and remembered.
A huge thank you to Hannah, Richard and Millie for taking part and being absolutely briliant!
"We loved our photos Megan took. Many of our family and friends didn't get to see tiny newborn Millie so the photos have been something we have treasured. The shoot was really seamless, Megan kept her distance and guided us on positions for us and Millie to be in. We are so pleased with the end result, no one would know the difference!" - Hannah x
